Keeping
The pantherchameleons are loners and act against other chameleons very agressive. Furcifer pardalis is really activ, that´s why it´s recommended to keep them alone in an not less then 100×60x100 cm (minimum for an male) and minimum 80×60x100 cm (for a female) big terrarium. I would entrust every holder to have for an male an min.
120cm height for the terrarium and in the depht min. 70.For an female it´s advisable.that the dimensions are 80×60x100 cm. You can build such terrariums with less work by your own.

Make sure that you have enough airing and on during the day a temprature from
Summer
: from 27-29 °C ( 35 °C under spots ) and at night time für 18-23 °C
Winter: from 20-24°C and at night time 16-20°C

In Summer the Pantherchameleons can also open air. The best way here are wire gauze cases. You can create one without that you are be good with one's hands. The wire gauze terrarium should have a lot of plants that the chamaeleon can hide for the sun. Very importants is often waterspraying and saturate while the chameleon is in the terrarium. Sometimes it´s needed to add a separate spot..

Pantherchameleons are Rainforrest inhabiters. therefore they need a high air moisture. This should be about 70%. After spraying it should reach nearly 100%. Tha´ts the reason why it has mold easylie. To prevent this you need to dry out the terrarium one time a day. It´s a recommendation to spray early in the morning from abvoe the terrarium. That simulates the natural morning dew.  To guarantee a absorption of water you should spray 1 ½ – 1 hour before you go to bed.

A gib advantage is to familiarize them with an dropper. Here will the chameleon soaked with an dropper. You hold the dropper lightly sloping in front of the head. In case of illness it´s easy to give them the medications.

The furnishings from a terrarium is a very important point. Important are true plants.Especially suitable are most of the Ficus kinds. e.g. Ficus benjamin, Ficus alii and Ficus pumila. The Ficus pumila is a very good climbing plant. After a short time he overgrown that back panels and builds offshoots. The climbing ficus is a very good (nontoxic)alternative to the real ivy. Which you should not confuse with the pothos which you can also use for the terrarium. Also the  Philodendron is very famous. Anyway the terrarium from a pantherchameleon should be thickly plant. (You should take care that the chameleons not eat too much from the plants. In that case you should remove the Ficus because too much of it is toxic for the chameleon)

Before you plant the plants you should wash them to make sure that no pesticides are left.

For the substrate you can use as the lowest layer lava balls or seramis. On that a vlies layer or Gauze that it´s not possible that both layers can mixed up- On top of that you can use soil or humus. You should have a complete substrate height from 20-30cm that´s needed for a good air moisture. The substrate for a female must have that height becuase they need it for laying the eggs.

Besides the terrarium should have a lot of horizontal and vertical branches. They should have different thicknesses, but they should not be too smooth like bamboo. Also cork back panels are really comment as climbing walls. Please don´t use cocomats because the fibres can be reason of sustain injuries (inner and external; Eye for example).
